EARLY GROWTH
A charter wasn't granted to Sparta #1 until November 18, 1937, alongside three other chapters: Alethea #2 in Seattle, Diana #3 in Portland, and Ariadne #4 in Vancouver. By the end of 1937, there were 20 chapters and 444 members total.
FORMAL AFFILIATION
The Maids of Athena officially became the Junior Auxiliary of the Daughters of Penelope at the 1950 Supreme Convention in Cleveland. maidsofathena
Mission
Promote Hellenism by strengthening Greek culture through educational and artistic activities, alongside sisterhood and service.
WORK
Chapters annually award scholarships based on academic merit, financial need, and participation, and have raised money for causes like the Cooley's Anemia Foundation, Deborah Heart and Lung Center, St. Basil Academy, and Special Olympics.
TODAY
Over 100 chapters across North America, making it the largest Greek female youth organization.
